FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Meditating on the word of God provides mental stimulus and nourishment as food does to our body. The way God's love is made accessible through His word, gives meaning and purpose to our lives.

I am Covered

And He said to them, “This is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice for many. (Mark 14: 24 NLT).

The power of the blood of Jesus, is the gift of eternal life. God’s promise of eternal blessing is given only on the basis of faith in the saving blood of His Son, the living Christ Jesus.

And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you (Galatians 3:29 NLT).

God gives true promise through faith in Jesus.

Rooted

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalms 1:3 KJV)

As we lay our life and grow deeper in our faith, we become more stable and stronger in our walk. We nourish our roots with the word and promises of God, as we seek for a sustainable, flourished and unshakable path.

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on His word. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. (Colossians 2:7 NLT)

Self – Restricted

Do not let sin control the way you live, do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become instrument of evil so serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.(Romans 6:12-14 NLT)

Perfect freedom is found in the services to God; yet that is the very opposite of the natural man's idea: contrariwise, we imagine that the more we refuse Divine restraints, the greater liberty is enjoyed. Not at all. There is food, but not all is good for you to eat.
